Rec Teams Win Divisions

Sapulpa U-12 Girls finished their 2007 Fall season with a perfect 10-0 record! This is quite an accomplishment, especially since 8 of the 10 players were playing their first season in the U-12 age group. The players are Elaine Coffey, Rachel Huff, Rebecca Lynn, Madison McReynolds, Mekayla Medina, Emily Mellington, Emily Norris, Brittany Parker, Olivia Penner, and Mariah Williams. They are coached by Roger Norris with assistance from Glenn Coffey. Great Job girls!!

Sapulpa U-14 Boys also won their 2007 Fall season division. Congrats to them as well!

WHO ARE THE GENERAL MEMBERS? - Monday, May 15, 2006

To clear up any confusion on who the General Membership of Sapulpa Soccer Club is.  The General Membership is the parent(s) of any registered Sapulpa Soccer Club youth player.  Please feel free to voice any concerns or suggestions you may have regarding your soccer club at any time during the season.  There is always a board member on duty during Saturday games or you can e-mail anyone of the board members, who will be glad to answer any questions or take care of any concerns you may have.

General Membership meetings are scheduled in the Spring and Fall.  These meetings are held so that you can chime in and vote on issues such as increasing registration fees, club uniforms, discussion of specific issues, receive board member reports concerning club business, nominating and electing of new board members, etc.  These meetings are very important so do plan to attend the next one in the Fall.  The date will be posted on the website, so check back regularly.

USYS Coaching Article - November 2005

One versus one (1v1) is the most common and frequent tactical situation for players. Every 1v1 situation involves all four components of the game; fitness, attitude, technique and tactics. Further, no matter what position a player has on the team, he/she must be able to handle a one on one both offensively and defensively. 1v1 is the foundation of all tactics, individual, group and team. If players cannot win the majority of 1v1 duels on both offense and defense then the odds of effectively combining in group and team tactics are reduced.
