 Recreational Tournament in Sapulpa?
   Re: Soccer Tournament Approved

Unfortunately, although our application was approved by Oklahoma Soccer, Green Country has denied it and we will not host a tournament this spring.  I have heard a lot of excitement regarding this possibility, and we will be trying to host a tournament in the near future.

   Tulsa United ChillFest Fall 05

The U8 Girls Strikers entered this tournament played Oct. 7, 8, and 9 at Bishop Fields, home of the Tulsa United Soccer Club.  The girls had a lot of fun playing soccer and hanging out together for a couple of days playing 3 games over Saturday and Sunday.  They finished in 3rd place in points behind the Owasso Hot Shots and the Tulsa United Attack, two VERY good teams.

 Recreational Tournament in Sapulpa?
   Re: Wouldn't that be fun?

Just one more thing!  There is a company out of Jenks, Sportspics, that does action photography
for your event or tournament.  I first found out about these guys at the Kick-It 3v3 last year and
I could not believe how wildly popular these guys were!  Kids were going nuts for this stuff!

Their website is:  http://www.sportspics.biz

Also, I can't remember what the concession stand has to offer but for a tournament, we could
contact Mazzio's (an OSA sponsor) and see if they could bring their mobile kitchen/trailer out.

If done the right way, this tournament could turn into an enjoyable, all-day affair for families.  I know most tournaments are all-day but we would add the enjoyment!

Thanks.

 General Tournament Discussion - Rec
   Re: BASC Fall 2005 Invitational

The Strikers entered this tournament and did well.  There were 12 U8 girls teams participating in the tournament, creating three groups with semi-final games and a final game.  The girls and fans all had a fun weekend of soccer.

In the first game, the Strikers were matched with the Broken Arrow Swipers, a team the Strikers beat 4-3 in the Green Country Championship tournament last spring.  The girls were a little off thier game in this match as they had been unable to practice for 2 weeks due to lack of light.  The Strikers lost 11-2 with Kelsey Gordon scoring 2 goals.

In the second game, the Strikers were matched with the Muskogee Predators.  The Strikers were back on thier game for this match, winning 11-0.  Kelsey Gordon led the attack with 9 goals with Molly McCool getting the other 2.  Adrianna Banks helped in the attack with 4 assists.  Aubrey Welker and Katelin Hamilton helped earn the shut out with more than 10 saves.

The third game the Strikers were matched against the Broken Arrow Angels.  This was a tough team, but the Strikers gave it thier all pulling off a 4-1 win.  Kelsey gordon scored all 4 goals with 2 assists from Adrianna Banks and 1 from Aubrey Welker.  Molly McCool played through a sore ankle providing a strong defense alongside Katelin Hamilton.  This win allowed the Strikers into the semi-final round of play as the wildcard winner.

In the semi-final game, the Strikers were matched against the Owasso Attack.  This team was very tough and were able to set up a great attack.  The half score was 5-2 in favor of Owasso.  The Strikers were able to fight the attack in the second half, holding the Attack to only 2 goals.  The Strikers also added another of thier own, but it was not enough and Sapulpa lost 7-3.

The 2 teams that defeated the Strikers went on to play in the final game, with Owasso, the team that Sapulpa lost to by only 4, taking the championship.  In the end, the Strikers had 20 goals for and 19 goals against and finished 4th in goal differential and overall points.

   Re: Fall 05 Clinics

I am glad to see the posting on the web about the Coach's and Player's clinics.  These clinics are long over due.  Sounds like Mike is coming in and doing a good job so far.

 Club Uniforms
   Re: What do you think?

Who's bright idea was it to use the same color uniform for evey team. The kids are so confused that can't play right.  I don't think your going to drive people away from soccer because of cost, it's going to be because of refs, members not been fair, and all players have the same color uniform.  I heard that coach members pick the best players for their team (U10G,B).  Refs are the same size as the players.  They don't know the rules enough to be refs for example:  last saturday a goal kick was done from a corner kick.

   Re: Sapulpa Registration

There were over 200 registrations this spring. Over the past few years, there have typically been 40-50 in U6, and 50-60 in U8.
